Saharna is one of the most popular spiritual and natural destinations in the Republic of Moldova, located on the steep banks of the Dniester River, in Rezina District. The area impresses through the harmonious combination of Saharna Monastery, rugged cliffs, and waterfalls formed by the Saharna stream, the most famous being the Big Waterfall. The site is also known for the footprint of the Virgin Mary, a depression in the rock linked to an old local tradition and considered a place of pilgrimage. Hiking trails wind through rocks and forests, offering spectacular panoramic views over the Dniester. Saharna is a place of reflection as well as exploration, where spirituality meets wild nature.

Visiting the waterfalls and viewpoints involves walking on natural paths and stone steps, so comfortable footwear is recommended. Access to the monastery is free, and the waterfalls are most impressive in spring.
