Hike ➤ Lespezi Peak 2517 m + Cornul Călțunului
This hike, starting from Piscul Negru, is intended for well-prepared mountain enthusiasts who wish to experience the challenges and beauty of the Făgăraș Mountains.
Lespezi Peak (2517 m): the fifth highest in the Romanian Carpathians, it offers spectacular landscapes, dominating the Făgăraș ridge. From this summit, hikers can admire an impressive panorama, including other peaks over 2500 meters such as Negoiu and Cornul Călțunului. With a 1300-meter elevation gain, the continuous ascent is rewarded with wide views and the Wind Rose located on the ridge.
Cornul Călțunului (2510 m): a majestic peak in the Făgăraș Mountains, known for its steep slopes and imposing rocky formations. Situated near Lake Călțun, it provides hiking enthusiasts with a unique perspective over the mountain expanses. From its crest, visitors can quietly contemplate the wild beauty of nature, with the Făgăraș ridges unfolding in the distance.
Transfăgărășan: The most spectacular road in Romania, nicknamed “The Road through the Clouds,” is a true masterpiece of nature and engineering. Its dizzying curves, tunnels, and mountain landscapes will carry you into a dreamlike world where you will live unforgettable emotions. Along the way, you will discover waterfalls, glacial lakes, and impressive nature reserves — but keep in mind that bears inhabit the area, so always stay close to the group and the guide.
Bâlea Lake: a glacial lake with a depth of over 11 meters, located at an altitude of 2034 m. Surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, the lake and its surroundings are designated a scientific reserve and natural monument. From the nearby viewpoint, tourists can admire the grandeur of the Transfăgărășan, while the fresh air and peaceful atmosphere complete this unique experience.
Capra Lake: a glacial lake located at an impressive altitude of 2230 m in the Făgăraș Mountains, not far from the Transfăgărășan. This particularly beautiful lake is surrounded by sharp ridges and alpine vegetation, offering breathtaking scenery. It is an ideal spot for relaxation or for capturing spectacular images of wild nature, and is easily accessible to hiking enthusiasts.
Capra Saddle (2315 m): a remarkable panoramic point in the Făgăraș Mountains. It offers an unmatched view over Capra Lake, as well as other surrounding peaks and ridges. It is a frequent destination for mountain hikes, serving as a connection point for trails leading to other objectives such as Negoiu Peak or Bâlea Lake, and also a place of rest after a sustained climb.
Note: Capra Lake and Capra Saddle will be included in the itinerary and visited only if the group’s physical condition allows it, following a careful assessment made by the mountain guide. Considering the considerable effort on the first day, when we will ascend and descend Lespezi Peak, the final decision will be made based on the participants’ energy level and physical condition. The safety and comfort of the group remain the top priorities in this mountain adventure.
THE PROGRAM AND ORDER OF TOURIST OBJECTIVES MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE, DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS, TRAFFIC OR OTHER UNFORGETTABLE SITUATIONS.

General list:
ℹ️ One week before the hike, a common group (Viber or WhatsApp) will be created, where the guide will share updates regarding the equipment depending on weather conditions and season.
The exact inclusions are specified for each hiking tour in the sections “What’s included” and “Additional costs” within the event description.
We recommend reading these sections carefully before booking. Certain services or expenses (such as cable cars, entrance fees, or meals) are not included in the price and must be paid separately, as indicated. Some services may require advance booking or on-site payment.
Hiking tours organized by SICRO TRAVEL within Romania are conducted in Romanian.
If necessary, the mountain guide can provide organizational explanations (schedule, safety rules, route guidance) in Russian or English. However, communication related to the route, navigation, and group coordination is carried out primarily in Romanian.
For hikes organized outside Romania, we usually work with local mountain guides who speak Romanian, Russian, or English, depending on the destination and availability.
For most hiking tours, the departure and return point is usually the Railway Station Square in Chișinău, unless otherwise specified in the hike description. As hikes are typically organized in small groups, a dedicated Viber group is created prior to departure, where all necessary organizational details are shared. Participants receive information about the exact boarding location, departure time, contact details of the guide or tour leader, as well as transport details, including the vehicle registration number or other relevant information.
Depending on the route, accommodation can be of two types: guesthouses or hotels rated at least 3★, or mountain huts located at higher altitudes.
For hotel or guesthouse accommodation, double (twin or double bed) or triple rooms are provided, subject to availability. Accommodation details are shared with participants prior to departure.
In the case of mountain huts, conditions are more basic, with accommodation usually arranged with several people sharing the same room. The authentic hut atmosphere and mountain setting are part of the hiking experience, and for some routes this is the only available accommodation option.
Yes. There is a stop approximately every 3 hours for restroom breaks, snacks, or coffee.
For mountain hikes, we never use large coaches – in the mountains we prefer small groups of up to 19 travelers, traveling exclusively by modern minibuses equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
We cannot guarantee an exact seat number at the time of booking. Seat allocation is done transparently, based on the order of payment: the earlier you pay, the closer you will be seated to the front of the transport.
At booking, we can provide an approximate indication (“among the first seats,” “in the middle,” “after the middle,” “towards the back,” “last seats,” etc.).
Why can’t we specify the exact seat?
? We work with several transport companies, and the vehicles may vary from one trip to another.
? Each coach or minibus has its own seat numbering system.
At SICRO TRAVEL, we strictly follow one principle: seats are allocated exclusively according to the order of payment.
For hikes that include hotel or guesthouse accommodation, we try to place solo travelers in double rooms (with separate beds) together with participants of the same gender and similar age group, subject to availability.
If room sharing is not possible, a single room supplement applies:
Romania: approximately €35–40 per night, depending on the accommodation.
Weather conditions in the mountains can differ significantly from those in Chișinău, as mountain areas have their own microclimates, and the route may be located at a considerable distance.
Hikes are cancelled only in exceptional situations, such as severe weather warnings, official alerts, or conditions that may compromise group safety.
If weather conditions change during the hike, the mountain guide and organizing team may adjust the route, pace, or schedule to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.
Yes, according to the contract. The conditions for modification or termination are specified in the contract annex and on each trip’s page under the “Documents” section.

Why are prices shown in euros, but payments are made in Moldovan lei, and what exchange rate applies?
According to Moldovan law, payments must be made exclusively in Moldovan lei. Prices are displayed in euros because costs depend on external partners.
Excursions and domestic trips – the commercial euro selling rate of MAIB SA on the day of payment applies. Details: https://www.sicro.md/en/-exchange-rate
International vacations and packages (sea and mountain) – the exchange rate set by external partners applies. In this case, the commercial rate may be up to +2% higher than the official NBM rate.
In most hiking tours organized in Romania, breakfast is provided at the hotel, guesthouse, or mountain hut, depending on the type of accommodation. However, there may be exceptions, depending on the facilities available or the specifics of the route.
As for lunch and dinner, these largely depend on the route, daily schedule, and the facilities available at the accommodation or along the trail. In some hikes, meals are served at local restaurants or mountain huts, while in others participants are required to bring a packed lunch (sandwiches, energy snacks, water) prepared in advance.
All meal-related details (what is included, what is paid separately, or what should be brought from home) are communicated to participants prior to departure, so everyone can be properly prepared.

A licensed mountain guide is essential for the safety and proper organization of a hike. They are professionally trained in route navigation, weather assessment, managing the group’s pace, and making the right decisions in unforeseen situations.
At SICRO TRAVEL, hikes are organized with licensed mountain guides who are highly familiar with the routes and mountain safety rules. The presence of a guide significantly reduces risks such as getting lost, accidents, encounters with wildlife, or exposure to severe weather, ensuring a safe and stress-free hiking experience for all participants.
The difficulty level of a hike is determined based on the distance, elevation gain, terrain type, and seasonal conditions. Each hike is clearly classified (beginner, intermediate, or challenging), allowing participants to accurately assess whether the route suits them.
Additionally, SICRO TRAVEL managers are available to provide further details and help you determine if the chosen hike matches your fitness level and experience.

Participation in hikes is not limited by a strict age threshold, but depends on health condition, physical fitness, and the ability to complete the planned route. Each hike has a defined difficulty level, and participants are encouraged to choose a route that matches their abilities.
If a participant is unable to continue the hike, the mountain guide will assess the situation and take the safest possible decision, which may include adjusting the pace, shortening the route, or organizing a controlled return to a safe point. Participant safety is always the top priority.
