Discover the city spread across two continents in a memorable city break. Now you have the opportunity to travel individually to Istanbul by plane at any time of the year!
Istanbul is one of the most fascinating cities in the world, spread across two continents. But why is Istanbul so popular among tourists? The secret of this amazing city lies in its rich history, cultural heritage, and incredible stories. Honestly, once you visit Istanbul, you’ll want to come back again and again!
What’s worth seeing in Istanbul:
Topkapi Palace → A luxurious, monumental, and majestic palace in Istanbul, covering approximately 700,000 square meters, making it one of the largest museums in the world. You can spend an entire day exploring everything slowly. The palace architecture is diverse, with different styles harmoniously combined. Flowers bloom everywhere in the courtyards, and shrubs line the paths. The TV series “Magnificent Century” tells the story of Sultan Suleiman who lived here with his concubines and Roxelana.
Grand Bazaar → One of the oldest covered markets in the world. Imagine, it has been operating since 1460. Today, the Grand Bazaar houses over 4,400 shops on 66 streets. The bazaar is a unique place with arched ceilings and a strong ancient spirit. Here you will have a shopping experience unlike any mall in Istanbul. Vendors, used to large numbers of buyers, may initially quote high prices. But if you venture deeper into the bazaar, prices for goods decrease. Don’t hesitate to negotiate, as initial prices can be reduced several times.
Hagia Sophia → Often called “the eighth wonder of the world,” and rightly so. The mosque is one of the few monumental buildings preserved almost entirely in its original splendor. Historical records indicate that about 10,000 people took part in its construction, spending 130 tons of gold, silver, and various precious stones.
Blue Mosque → A magnificent monument of world architecture, rightly considered the pearl of the Ottoman Empire, because nowhere else in the world will you find such a majestic and elegant house of worship. Properly named Sultanahmet Mosque, it is the main Islamic temple in Istanbul. Outside, the building is gray, but tourists call it the “Blue Mosque” due to the interior decoration with blue ornamental tiles.
Galata Tower → One of Istanbul’s magnificent attractions, built in the 14th century. Initially constructed as a lighthouse, it was later used as an observation tower, lookout, and even a prison. Today, it functions as an observation deck and a museum. The building has 8 floors, each with a specific theme. For example, on one floor you can watch a short film about the first manned flight in the world, which was conducted from this tower. On the penultimate floor, there is an exact model of Constantinople.
Istanbul Aquarium → One of the best aquariums in the world, featuring a variety of themed exhibits. Its spaces impress with unique design, views, and geographic and cultural elements. Interactive film demonstrations, light and sound signals fascinate visitors from the first moment. Water tanks have different shapes, and each object has an electronic display providing detailed information about marine life.
